Dr. Lisa McDevitt began working with Ear Works Audiology in 2016 and works primarily in the Massapequa location. She received her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree from the University of Connecticut in 2008 and has over 16 years of diverse clinical experience. She comes to Ear Works after working at Weill Cornell Medicine hospital in NYC for 7 years and was an adjunct professor at Marymount Manhattan College teaching undergraduate students. Her first position in audiology was at Lexington School for the Deaf in Queens. Her clinical expertise includes diagnostic audiometric testing for pediatric through geriatric populations. Dr. McDevitt specializes in audiologic rehabilitation, including the selection and fitting of amplification and hearing assistive technology. She is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and regularly attends educational seminars to maintain her expertise in the latest advancements in the field.
When Dr. McDevitt was 18, she experienced hearing loss due to a bad ear infection. Luckily her hearing loss was only temporary, but it helped her understand how frustrating and isolating hearing loss can be. She changed her major the next year at college and has been dedicated to making people aware of how important hearing healthcare is.
In her spare time, Dr. McDevitt enjoys barre and yoga classes, outdoor adventures, and spending time with her husband and daughter.
